Description
MAIN ENGINE: MAN 6L50MC ; Maker: Cegielski
Provided three Technicians for Mechanical Assistances in ship bottom valves maintenance from may.26 to june 01-2011.
"8.08 Turbo Charger Air Cooler Cleaned:
Maker: B&H EXHANGERS LTD FOR CEGIELSKI B&W 6L50MC Hydrostatic tested pressure (for tube side) - 4 bar Hydrostatic test pressure (for air side) - 2 bar Weight: EndCover-317kg Cooler element LKM27D4 - 1033 kg Waterflow reversing chamber - 214 kg
The charge air cooler is of block type and located at the engines starboard side, below the turbo charger. The unit, which is welded up on steel plates, is of considerable weight see above. InServ disconnected the LT Fresh water inlet- and outlet lines and all associated piping, removed the cooler from the present location and transported the unit ashore for chemical cleaning of the airside and hydro test of the fresh waterside.
Upon completion of the cleaning process, the cooler was shown to the Owner's Representative for final inspection. InServ arranged for the charge air cooler to be transported back to the vessel and reinstalled, InServ Supplied new gaskets, seals and replacing some defective bolts and nuts. During the transportation, adequate measures was taken to protect the cooler fíns from any damage."
Charge air cooler additional Repair: during workshop charge air cooler maintenance were found three leaking tubes, all the tubes were tested one by one until found the bursted tubes, these were plugged with bronze plugs.
Auxiliary Boiler: Were Mechanically cleaned the Exhaust gas and water sides.
8.11 Main Engine Exhaust Gas Manifold: Replaced defective Isolating materials aprox. 12m2, Supplied isolating materials and installed.
